Why Stand with Israel

This article below is written by Jack Hayford, co-founder of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ).

As this year’s DPPJ is but a few days away, I encourage you to read this important article on why we, as Christians, need to pray for and stand with Israel. More than political, this is one most crucial Scriptural and Spiritual issue. If you love God, you must know the heart of God not only for yourself and your Church but for Israel through whom He chose to reveal His plans and purposes for the whole human race. Our identity as believers, our purpose and calling revolve around the will of Him who created all things and all peoples.

Why-Stand-with-Israel

By Jack Hayford

Israel is a land about which G-d says – uniquely, prophetically, redemptively, and repeatedly in the Bible – “This is Mine.” G-d refers to Israel as He does to no other land on Earth. Israel was raised up to be a light to the Gentiles.

The Church at its inception was virtually entirely Jewish, and it remained so until the Gospel began to spread. Ultimately, the Gospel spread to Antioch – where the first Gentile congregation began – the base from which the Gospel spread into all the world.

In the book of Romans, chapters 9 through 11, the Apostle Paul deals with the question of the Jews in G-d’s providence and purpose. These three chapters virtually stand alone, within the whole of the Bible, as an elaboration of the theology of G-d’s dealing with Jews. The Jews were the “first fruit” … the “first people” (through Abraham) to understand a covenant G-d. They then relayed the riches of that truth to the world, and through their agency, the Messiah came into the world. The Word of G-d calls Jews the “root” and Gentiles the “branches.” We’re reminded that while “because of unbelief, some of them were broken off and you stand by faith,” we are not to become haughty but to fear: “For if G-d did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.” When the fullness of the Gentiles is completed, “all Israel will be saved.” (ch. 11:16-27)

We are living in a sobering moment in history that calls us, as believers in Jesus Christ, to take a stand with Israel. We could be people of the last hours. We are not to be passive in the face of prophecy; we are called to pray with passion, to intercede, and to minister according to the words of the Savior who said it is not our task to speculate when the end will be. It is our responsibility to do Kingdom business until He comes (Luke 19:13).

This is not about politics, this is about the Word of G-d… but the political ramifications are extremely dramatic. Scripture declares there will come a time when all the nations of the world will turn against Israel. It is so highly conceivable this could happen in our time that it is crucial to outline why we should stand with Israel today.

On Praying for Israel

Since walking in fellowship with the Lord, asking Him what is in His heart so I could pray in agreement with Him about an issue has been my way of praying. Yesterday, before going to the Monday prayer and intercession for Israel, I asked Him what was in His heart that He wanted me to share with the intercessors. The Holy Spirit whispered in my heart this word:

13 “Oh, that My people would listen to Me,
That Israel would walk in My ways!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies,
And turn My hand against their adversaries.

Psalm 81 is a call to repentance. While it is not wrong to pray for the many issues affecting Israel especially the issue of security in the midst of all the threats to the nation’s very existence (and praise Him for answering those prayers), God wants us to remember to pray for the most important one – Israel’s repentance and for the Jews to acknowledge and receive Yeshua as their Messiah.

Israel has fallen into apostasy. Many are caught in religious traditions that have nothing to do with God and His Word. Others simply do not believe that God exists. Praise Him though, for the many Jews who believe in Yeshua their Messiah. May the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob increase their number.

In view of the above, here are some thoughts for the Christians regarding Israel:

To the Christians who supposedly love Israel, express that love by praying for the Jews. Attending pro-Israel gatherings and supporting everything Israel on social media are not in themselves true expression of that love if you do not also pray for them.

Going back to Hebraic roots to the extent of copying Israel’s religious traditions, becoming more Jewish than the Jews, is not the right way to support Israel. It may, in fact, put you in danger of going back to the bondage of the law. Sadly, many have fallen into that trap.

Those Christians who believe that Israel lost her status as God’s chosen nation because of disobedience  and so do not believe in supporting and praying for her, consider the word of the Lord through Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 31:31-38

31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,[a] says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

35 Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The Lord of hosts is His name):

36 “If those ordinances depart
From before Me, says the Lord,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease
From being a nation before Me forever.”

37 Thus says the Lord:

“If heaven above can be measured,
And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
I will also cast off all the seed of Israel
For all that they have done, says the Lord.

38 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the city shall be built for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. 39 The surveyor’s line shall again extend straight forward over the hill Gareb; then it shall turn toward Goath. 40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.”

In all our praying and standing for Israel, let us consider God’s heart and agree with His plans and purposes.

Cynthia

A Vision: Roger Waters and BDS

When I read the news on Roger Waters slamming Scarlett Johansson and Neil Young on their refusal to boycott Israel, I remembered the vision I had back in 2011 which I wrote in my old blog. Today, as I read another story on this on Arutz Sheva, the Holy Spirit strongly prompted me to write the vision and publish it here. First, here are the news:

Here’s the vision I wrote in June 2011.

Around 6:30 in the morning on June 3 while still enjoying the comfort of my bed half awake, the Lord startled me with a snapshot of ‘pink men’ (the color of their skin was pink) getting out of their car. Along with the image was the thought that these men represent a group, and spontaneously I heard in my spirit, ‘Global Council.’ The whole scene just lasted a few seconds but it was enough to fully awaken me. With eyes wide open, I pondered what could these pink men and Global Council mean?

I went straight to the computer and searched for “Pink” and “Global Council.” I was equally surprised at what I found as I was with the vision. The search terms led me straight to the blog “Global Affairs Council,” particularly showing the following article which is still there today. (Note: Obviously you won’t get the same result today as I got it more than two years ago.)

Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters and American Folk Music Legend Pete Seeger Joined in Support of BDS

I had no doubt that the vision was about this because throughout 2011 I often received a word or a vision that concerned Israel. This occurred after the Lord showed me in a dream that Christians should pray for and stand with Israel. Before the vision, I honestly didn’t know anything about BDS and of Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters’ campaign. Truth is, before God opened my spiritual eyes and ears, I didn’t know much about Israel’s standing in the world and the world’s negative attitude towards this tiny nation. Only when the Lord started showing me things about Israel which led me to search and read did I begin to understand what’s going on in the Land of Promise. Most importantly, God’s revelations to me made me fully appreciate His great love and mercy for Israel and the Jewish people.

This vision does not only tell us to intercede against this ‘Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions’ (BDS) on Israel that Roger Waters is supporting and promoting, but this is also solid proof that God is watching over this nation. He knows exactly what her enemies are doing and none of their plans, schemes and devises escape Him. I don’t need to remind the Christians that the Palestinians’ and the world’s claim about the Land of Israel and the Jews are distorted. The Jews are not illegal occupants of Israel for God who owns the land gave it to them as their inheritance in view of the covenant He made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel).

I also would like to remind the Christians who claim to be people of God but still stand on the opposite when it comes to issues about Israel and the Jews. Make up your mind for God sees your heart. Do not make it an excuse that they are as sinful as the rest of the world for the Father knows that very well. Also, this is not about siding with Israelis against the Palestinians as I have written that likewise God wants us to intercede for the latter. This is about Him. Our role is to pray according to His will. As ones saved by grace through the Jewish Messiah Yeshua, we are called to side and stand with Him in His plans and purposes for Israel and the Jews. God appointed and raised this tiny nation to manifest His Sovereignty and power to the lost world. Through them He will accomplish His plans and purposes for all mankind. The second coming of the Messiah is not only for the gentile Christians but for the full restoration of Israel and the Jews for all the world to see. He will glorify His Name and show to the unbelieving and deceived world that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God who created the heavens and the earth lives.

Philippians 2:10-11

10 that in honor of the name given Yeshua,
every knee will bow
in heaven, on earth and under the earth —
11 and every tongue will acknowledge[a]
that Yeshua the Messiah is Adonai
to the glory of God the Father.

For all watchmen and intercessors, this campaign to boycott Israel is something that God wants us to pray for and intercede because this is a scheme to pressure her leaders to give in to the demands of the enemy to give up and divide the land that the Father freely gave them.

Psalm 122:6

Pray for shalom in Yerushalayim;
may those who love you prosper.

Love in Yeshua,

Cynthia

==============================================================================

There is no coincidence in God. What I just received in my email from Jerusalem 365 after publishing this article is His confirmation of what I shared above; that the Jews are not illegally occupying the Land of Israel (Palestine as the world wrongly claims) for it is their inheritance from Him as He promised to their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob:

Ezekiel 47:14

You shall inherit the Land, each tribe equal to his brother, about which I raised My hand to give it to your forefathers; this Land shall become yours as an inheritance.

The Global March to Jerusalem is a Failure!

I wanted to post an update yesterday about the result of the Global March to Jerusalem movement, but was undecided thinking that the news were enough to speak of it. But this early morning of April 1 at 3:15am, I woke up to this message: “The march failed to amass the 1 million target,” spontaneously seeing in my mind images of the march. Then as I prayed, the Lord impressed to me that I should put this thing in writing to proclaim the fulfillment of what He had shown to me on March 25 when He declared that “the march is futile.”

Please see the message from my earlier posts here:

https://thetrumpetsound.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/march-to-jer/

The Global March to Jerusalem and the Land Day movement was a failure. The organizers did not meet the goal to amass 1 million Arabs to march to Jerusalem to protest the alleged occupation by the Jews of the Land of Palestine.  The marchers and protesters from different points even if combined did not get close to 10 percent of the target; and they did not get to Jerusalem.

Israel’s security forces successfully prevented the marchers and rioters from crossing the borders. The Palestinian rioters in Jerusalem were likewise kept at bay and eventually stopped by the combined forces of the IDF, Israeli and Palestinian police.

Haaretz News reported that some protests turned violent when the protesters clashed with the IDF soldiers, at the Qalandiyah checkpoint, at Rachel’s Tomb border crossing and the Erez crossing. ArutzSheva, in the news today, concluded that the ‘Land Day’ ended relatively quietly,’ reporting that “One Arab was killed in a riot near the Erez Crossing. About 30 were reported wounded.” Please see story here: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/154340#.T3jXd9mf29t

As the God of Israel declared on March 25, the Global March to Jerusalem is indeed FUTILE. The movement ended without achieving its intended purpose for according to His word in Psalm 33: 10, “The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.”

Yes, the Lord foils the plans of the peoples who come against Jerusalem, His Holy City. For “Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep” Psalm 121:4 (NIV).

The Truth About the Global March to Jerusalem

Unless you look deeper into the essence of the ‘Global March to Jerusalem,’ you won’t actually see the truth behind it. The organizers are a master of deceptive rhetoric and the media are quick to broadcast them. But contrary to their claim, the Global March is not a peaceful movement aimed at peaceful result but rather an act of invading Jerusalem and Israel with the end purpose of freeing Jerusalem from who they claim are illegal occupants of the Land of Palestine- the Jews. Before going to the issue of the ‘Global March, I would like to make clear that Israel is the Land of Israel, not the Land of Palestine. There had never been a country in all history that was called Palestine nor were there Palestinian people with a distinct culture and language to qualify them as legitimate nationals/citizens of one particular nation. I do not wish to go further into the issue of Palestine and its identity as it is not the concern of this article. But a good and thorough discussion of how the Land of Israel came to be called Palestine, and how the present Palestinians evolved and embraced such identity can be read from the following links:

http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_early_palestine_name_origin.php

http://rcg.org/articles/patp.html

To understand the essence of the Global March, it is important to see who the organizers are. Quoting the CiF Watch, the following are the key people behind the movement: (See story here: http://cifwatch.com/2012/03/18/fact-sheet-global-march-to-jerusalem-gmj-march-30-2012/)

The organizers of GMJ are made up of members of Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, far-left extremist groups and are backed by the Iranian government. Senior organizers include:

  • Ahmed Abo Halabiya, a Hamas MP who in 2000 gave a sermon saying “Have no mercy on the Jews, no matter where they are, in any country. Fight them, wherever you are. Wherever you meet them, kill them.”
  • Zaher Birawi, a prominent Hamas activist in the UK and senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood linked Palestinian Return Center.
  • Abdul Maqri, head of the Algerian delegation aboard the Mavi Marmara who in 2010 said “all our blood is Palestine” and declared that “Israel will be annihilated soon”.

Advisory board members include George Galloway, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Mairead McGuire, Mahathir Mohammed and Sheikh Raed Salah.

See from the news at Haaretz (http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/organizers-fear-palestinian-land-day-protests-could-turn-violent-1.421134), how deceptive and hypocritical these people are, sending out a message that they are actually concerned that the demonstrations could turn violent. What country would not do anything to protect itself from outside threats against its sovereignty? The march movement is obviously a grave threat to the sovereignty of Israel. The organizers are neither innocent nor ignorant of what they are doing and what they want to achieve. The organizers who belong to different terrorist and extremist groups, though having different positions on issues of power and dominance, have one common goal when it comes to the Jewish State of Israel- to annihilate and wipe them off the map. The question is, could this people really wipe Israel off the map and replace it with their own?

Since this blog is prophetic and Biblical, hence, the conclusion will always be based on the Scriptures which bear witness to the legitimacy of the Jewish State of Israel with Jerusalem as its undivided capital. From Psalm 137:5-6, the Lord declares:

If I forget you, Yerushalayim, may My right hand wither away! May My tongue stick to the roof of My mouth. If I fail to remember you, if I fail to count Yerushalayim the greatest of all my joys.

If God forgets Jerusalem, which unfortunately, He does not, only then will they be able to destroy the land and the people whom He chose. And speaking of those He has chosen, this morning around 6 o’clock, this was the word that woke me up: They will arise whom the Lord has chosen.”
