The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem

The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem

What is the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem?

On the first Sunday of every October, hundreds of millions of people around the world join together to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. In just a few years, this event has quickly become the largest Israel-focused prayer event in history. But why set aside this day each year to pray for Jerusalem?

Purpose

We set aside this one day each year to raise global awareness and intercession for G-d’s purposes in Israel, knowing that this hour in history is critical and our authority in prayer is great. Though we pray every day for Israel, we seek on this day to unite believers around the world in raising a cry to Heaven on behalf of this troubled, but strategic land and its people. We believe in G-d’s promises for His beloved nation and fervently pray to hasten the day when He brings fulfillment to His word. (Read more).

Isaiah 62:6-7

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence,

And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Why Stand with Israel?

IsraelFlag_(1).jpg

Israel is a land about which G-d says – uniquely, prophetically, redemptively, and repeatedly in the Bible – “This is Mine.” G-d refers to Israel as He does to no other land on Earth. Israel was raised up to be a light to the Gentiles.

The Church at its inception was virtually entirely Jewish, and it remained so until the Gospel began to spread. Ultimately, the Gospel spread to Antioch – where the first Gentile congregation began – the base from which the Gospel spread into all the world.

In the book of Romans, chapters 9 through 11, the Apostle Paul deals with the question of the Jews in G-d’s providence and purpose. These three chapters virtually stand alone, within the whole of the Bible, as an elaboration of the theology of G-d’s dealing with Jews. The Jews were the “first fruit” … the “first people” (through Abraham) to understand a covenant G-d. They then relayed the riches of that truth to the world, and through their agency, the Messiah came into the world. The Word of G-d calls Jews the “root” and Gentiles the “branches.” We’re reminded that while “because of unbelief, some of them were broken off and you stand by faith,” we are not to become haughty but to fear: “For if G-d did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.” When the fullness of the Gentiles is completed, “all Israel will be saved.” (ch. 11:16-27) (Read more)

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Vision: Israel Through the Lens

Last night the Father reminded me of the dream/vision I received sometime in 2011 as I was praying what to do about the confusion on Israel. When I woke up this morning, the Holy Spirit prompted me to write about this.

The Lord started giving me dreams, visions, words on Israel around 2009 after I heard His voice in December 2008, in a dream or night vision saying, “As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” (The audible voice sounded as John described in Revelation like the sound of many waters). But it was in 2011 when the frequency of dreams and visions increased that I began to seek and understand what He was trying to tell me. One of those dreams I had was about seeing the vision through the lens.

In the dream I saw vividly very beautiful flowers in vibrant yellow, something I’ve never seen or perhaps won’t really see in this world.  The vast array was glorious and heavenly. It was impressed in the dream that what I saw was someone’s vision and I heard this, “To see correctly, the vision must be seen through the lens.”

The message in the dream puzzled me for months until I read in the book ‘Praying for Israel’s Destiny,’ what James W. Goll said:

“If you want to have an accurate perception of life, Scripture and God’s purposes in the Earth- especially in the days before Christ returns- you must have God’s vision. You must see through God’s eyes and then hold dear to your heart the things closest to the heart of God. Since Israel is at the center of God’s vision, we will need to see through the lens of Israel’s destiny if we are to see correctly and clearly…” (emphasis added). Read the entire excerpt on Amazon.

On a side note, I bought James Goll’s books because of the vision I had of him during prayer. It was in one of my prayers about what God was doing to me and trying to tell me in the many dreams and visions He was giving me constantly that I saw James Goll with shelves of books behind him. Immediately the impression was that the Holy Spirit was telling me to read his books. Amazingly, this man of God discuss in his books many of the messages I received on the Prophetic, Israel, and Prayer and Intercession.

The Lord also prompted me this morning to check on another man of God, Derek Prince, who, throughout his solid years in ministry during his lifetime, saw Israel and the Church in the right and Biblical perspective. I am astounded by another confirmation of what it is about seeing the vision through the lens. His book entitled “The Destiny of Israel and the Church” depicts this image.

The Destiny of Israel

The Focus of World Attention

“Why is Israel the focus of attention in the world’s
media? Why do pragmatic and statesmanlike
world leaders erupt with emotional outbursts when
Israel is discussed? Why does the United Nations devote 30
percent of its time and one-third of its resolutions to Israel—a
tiny country with a population of only five million?
There is only one source for a clear and authoritative
answer: the Bible. Although it was completely written almost
two thousand years before the current problems in the Middle
East arose, the Bible provides a supernaturally inspired
analysis of both the issues and the forces that are involved.
Israel occupies a unique place in the current
controversies, because the place that Israel occupies in God’s
purposes is likewise unique. God’s prophetic Word reveals
that this present age will culminate with the restoration and
redemption of Israel. The nearer we come to the close of the
age, therefore, the more intense will be the pressures
surrounding Israel.

These events that center on Israel will also determine the
destiny of Satan, the age-old adversary of God and man. In
2 Corinthians 4:4 Satan is called “the god of this age.” He is
well aware that when Israel’s redemption is completed and
this age closes, he will no longer be able to pose as a god. He
will be stripped of his power to deceive and manipulate
humanity and will be subject to the judgment of God.
Consequently, he is at this time deploying all his deceptive
strategy and exercising all his evil power to resist the process
that will lead to Israel’s restoration and ultimate redemption.
Here, then, are the two main spiritual forces that meet in
conflict over the Middle East: on the one hand, the grace of
God working toward Israel’s restoration; and on the other
hand, the deceitful strategies of Satan, who is opposing this
process by every means in his power. This is the real but
invisible reason for the struggles and tensions which Israel is
currently experiencing.

A major part of Satan’s strategy against Israel has been
to obscure the truth as revealed in the Bible. It is amazing
that so much confusion has existed, and still exists, in the
church today concerning God’s purposes for Israel. The
battle for Israel is, in fact, the battle for truth. There are two
vital areas of truth that we will consider in this book: Israel’s
identity and Israel’s destiny. After we have examined these,
we must consider whether the destiny of Israel also sheds
light on the destiny of the church. Finally, we will discuss the
responsibility of the church toward Israel in this hour of
crisis…

Essential truth is usually simple. And the truth is, Israel
is Israel, and the church is the church.
To recover the truth about the identity of Israel it is
necessary to go back to the actual text of the New Testament
and see how the apostles used the term Israel. This is the
only legitimate basis for a scripturally accurate use of this
term. Ever since the canon of Scripture was closed, no
subsequent writer or preacher has been authorized to change
the usage established by the apostolic writers of the New
Testament. Any writer or preacher who introduces a different
application of the term Israel forfeits the right to claim
scriptural authority for what he or she has to say about Israel.

I have discovered seventy-nine instances in the New
Testament where the words Israel or Israelite occur.* After
examining them all, I conclude that the apostles never used
Israel as a synonym for the church.
Nor does the phrase the new Israel occur anywhere in
the New Testament. Preachers who use that phrase should
take care to define their use of it. They should also state that
it is not found in the Bible.”

I don’t, at this point, want to add more to the writers’ words. They both eloquently explained the destiny of Israel and the church and so I recommend the readers who want to see the truth in the right perspective, to read the books. You may also visit their websites and search on Israel topics.

Finally, I emphasize that the ultimate source of truth is the Bible and so read it over, asking the Holy Spirit to show you the truth from His point.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”

With love, in Yeshua,

Cynthia

On Praying for Israel

https://i0.wp.com/www.jewishpost.com/images/news/images/Jerusalem-9-28-lg.jpg

jewishpost images

Since walking in fellowship with the Lord, asking Him what is in His heart so I could pray in agreement with Him about an issue has been my way of praying. Yesterday, before going to the Monday prayer and intercession for Israel, I asked Him what was in His heart that He wanted me to share with the intercessors. The Holy Spirit whispered in my heart this word:

13 “Oh, that My people would listen to Me,
That Israel would walk in My ways!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies,
And turn My hand against their adversaries.

Psalm 81 is a call to repentance. While it is not wrong to pray for the many issues affecting Israel especially the issue of security in the midst of all the threats to the nation’s very existence (and praise Him for answering those prayers), God wants us to remember to pray for the most important one – Israel’s repentance and for the Jews to acknowledge and receive Yeshua as their Messiah.

Israel has fallen into apostasy. Many are caught in religious traditions that have nothing to do with God and His Word. Others simply do not believe that God exists. Praise Him though, for the many Jews who believe in Yeshua their Messiah. May the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob increase their number.

In view of the above, here are some thoughts for the Christians regarding Israel:

To the Christians who supposedly love Israel, express that love by praying for the Jews. Attending pro-Israel gatherings and supporting everything Israel on social media are not in themselves true expression of that love if you do not also pray for them.

Going back to Hebraic roots to the extent of copying Israel’s religious traditions, becoming more Jewish than the Jews, is not the right way to support Israel. It may, in fact, put you in danger of going back to the bondage of the law. Sadly, many have fallen into that trap.

Those Christians who believe that Israel lost her status as God’s chosen nation because of disobedience  and so do not believe in supporting and praying for her, consider the word of the Lord through Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 31:31-38

31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,[a] says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

35 Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The Lord of hosts is His name):

36 “If those ordinances depart
From before Me, says the Lord,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease
From being a nation before Me forever.”

37 Thus says the Lord:

“If heaven above can be measured,
And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
I will also cast off all the seed of Israel
For all that they have done, says the Lord.

38 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the city shall be built for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. 39 The surveyor’s line shall again extend straight forward over the hill Gareb; then it shall turn toward Goath. 40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.”

In all our praying and standing for Israel, let us consider God’s heart and agree with His plans and purposes.

Standing with God on Israel!

Google Images

Yes, I am standing with God on His established plans and purposes for Israel! That should get to every reader’s heart and mind that what I am standing with Israel about is not political but rather Biblical and spiritual. This is how the Lord answered my question about how I should let the critics and naysayers know what I am really standing with and for Israel.

It was a few Sundays ago that while I was listening to the Messianic Pastor preached about God’s will and purposes for raising up Jacob/Israel that the Holy Spirit gently spoke that what was written on stage that says: “We Stand with Israel Now and Forever” should be “We Stand with God on Israel…”

Israel is the apple of His eye, whether we like it or not. It is His Word and no one has the right to twist its meaning although as children of God by adoption through the blood of the Messiah, we also become the apple of His eye. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel who is also my God is not shortsighted. He saw the end from the beginning. He is not surprised that Israel didn’t recognize the Messiah when He came, rejected Him and caused Him to be crucified; and He’s not surprised that many Jews still don’t recognize Him to this day. Didn’t He Himself cause them to be blind? Yes, He made them blind so that salvation would reach the gentiles. Now many of the gentile believers who call themselves Christians have also become blind that they do not see that their salvation by grace isn’t meant to replace Israel in His established plan for humanity. Many Christians are so blind that they so believe that they have replaced Israel in the heart of God. If that was God’s intention, to remove Israel and turn His heart to the gentiles, then He should have sent Jesus/Yeshua as a gentile and not a Jew. He would have been born outside of Israel and would not have been a Jewish Rabbi.

Furthermore and most importantly, the Father who revealed these things to me is not powerless to act on His Word so powerfully spoken in Ezekiel 36. Who dare say that the Word of the Lord here is not literal but only symbolic and applicable to the “spiritual Israel” and does not apply to the Land and people of Israel today? If you have no reverence for Him and His Word, then go ahead and interpret it the way you want it. But this is the basis for everyone who wants to stand with Israel. You must stand with God on His plans and purposes for Israel. Your prayer and intercession must be directed towards this end. If your standing for Israel is merely political and for the hype of it, forget it for you will only be frustrated and angry. Stand with God on Israel, stand with His Word. Remind Him day and night of His covenant with them, His promises for them and His purposes for them, for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ whom the Christian Church is waiting hinges on the Jews’ acceptance and acknowledgment of Him as their promised King and Messiah.

Matthew 23:38-39

38 Look! God is abandoning your house to you, leaving it desolate.[a] 39 For I tell you, from now on, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of Adonai.’

Pay close attention to His message as you read Ezekiel 36. All the unbelieving Christian’s accusation of today’s Israel is addressed by the Lord clearly so that you have no excuse for denying Israel.

Ezekiel 36

36 “Now you, human being, prophesy to the mountains of Isra’el. Say: ‘Mountains of Isra’el, hear the message from Adonai. Adonai Elohim says: “The enemy is boasting over you, ‘Ha! Even the ancient high places are ours now!’ ” ’ Therefore prophesy, and say that Adonai Elohim says, ‘Because they desolated you and swallowed you up from every side, so that the other nations could take possession of you; and now people are gossiping about you and slandering you; therefore, mountains of Isra’el, hear the message of Adonai Elohim this is what Adonai Elohim says to the mountains and hills, the streams and valleys, the desolate wastes and the abandoned cities, now preyed on and derided by the other surrounding nations — therefore this is what Adonai Elohim says: “In the heat of my jealousy I speak against the other nations and all of Edom, since, rejoicing with all their heart, they have arrogated my land to themselves as a possession and, with utter contempt, seized it as prey.”’

“Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Isra’el, and say to the mountains, the hills, the streams and the valleys that Adonai Elohim says this: ‘I speak in my jealousy and fury, because you have endured being shamed by the nations. Therefore thus says Adonai Elohim: “I have raised my hand and sworn that the nations surrounding you will bear their shame. But you, mountains of Isra’el, you will sprout your branches and bear your fruit for my people Isra’el, who will soon return. I am here for you, and I will turn toward you; then you will be tilled and sown; 10 and I will multiply your population, all the house of Isra’el, all of it. The cities will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. 11 I will multiply both the human and animal populations, they will increase and be productive; and I will cause you to be inhabited as you were before — indeed, I will do you more good than before; and you will know that I am Adonai. 12 I will cause people to walk on you, my people Isra’el; they will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; never again will you make them childless.” 13 Adonai Elohim says, “Because they say to you, ‘Land, you devour people and make your nations childless,’ 14 therefore you will no longer devour people, and you will not make your nations childless any more,” says Adonai Elohim. 15 “I will not permit the nations to shame you, or the peoples to reproach you any longer; and you will no more cause your nations to stumble,” says Adonai Elohim.’”

16 The word of Adonai came to me: 17 “Human being, when the house of Isra’el lived in their own land, they defiled it by their manner of life and their actions; their way before me was like the uncleanness of niddah. 18 Therefore I poured out my fury on them, because of the blood they had shed in the land and because they defiled it with their idols. 19 I scattered them among the nations and dispersed them throughout the countries; I judged them in keeping with their manner of life and actions. 20 When they came to the nations they were going to, they profaned my holy name; so that people said of them, ‘These are Adonai’s people, who have been exiled from his land.’ 21 But I am concerned about my holy name, which the house of Isra’el is profaning among the nations where they have gone.

22 “Therefore tell the house of Isra’el that Adonai Elohim says this: ‘I am not going to do this for your sake, house of Isra’el, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have been profaning among the nations where you went. 23 I will set apart my great name to be regarded as holy, since it has been profaned in the nations — you profaned it among them. The nations will know that I am Adonai,’ says Adonai Elohim, ‘when, before their eyes, I am set apart through you to be regarded as holy.

24 For I will take you from among the nations,
gather you from all the countries,
and return you to your own soil.
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you,
and you will be clean;
I will cleanse you from all your uncleanness
and from all your idols.
26 I will give you a new heart
and put a new spirit inside you;
I will take the stony heart out of your flesh
and give you a heart of flesh.
27 I will put my Spirit inside you
and cause you to live by my laws,
respect my rulings and obey them.
28 You will live in the land I gave to your ancestors.
You will be my people,
and I will be your God.
29 I will save you from all your uncleanliness.
I will summon the grain and increase it,
and not send famine against you.
30 I will multiply the yield of fruit from the trees
and increase production in the fields,
so that you never again suffer the reproach
of famine among the nations.
31 Then you will remember your evil ways
and your actions that were not good;
as you look at yourselves, you will loathe yourselves
for your guilt and disgusting practices.
32 Understand,’ says Adonai Elohim,
‘that I am not doing this for your sake.
Instead, be ashamed and dismayed for your ways,
house of Isra’el.’

33 Adonai Elohim says, ‘When the day comes for me to cleanse you from all your guilt, I will cause the cities to be inhabited and the ruins to be rebuilt. 34 The land that was desolate will be tilled, whereas formerly it lay desolate for all passing by to see. 35 Then they will say, “The land that used to be desolate has become like Gan-‘Eden, and the cities formerly ruined, abandoned and wasted have been fortified and are inhabited!” 36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I, Adonai, have rebuilt the ruins and replanted what was abandoned. I, Adonai, have spoken; and I will do it.’

37 Adonai Elohim says, ‘In addition, I will let the house of Isra’el pray to me to do this for them: to increase their numbers like sheep — 38 like flocks of sheep for sacrifices, like the flocks of sheep in Yerushalayim at its designated times, in this degree will the ruined cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am Adonai.’”

God is in the business of removing the veil from the eyes of both the Jews and the gentiles. For the Jews, that they will recognize Yeshua as the Messiah; and for the gentiles, that we will see and understand that our own place in His family is not to replace them but to provoke them to jealousy so that they will see their Messiah through us.

Psalm 122

(0) A song of ascents. By David:

(1) I was glad when they said to me,
“The house of Adonai! Let’s go!”
Our feet were already standing
at your gates, Yerushalayim.

Yerushalayim, built as a city
fostering friendship and unity.

The tribes have gone up there, the tribes of Adonai,
as a witness to Isra’el,
to give thanks to the name of Adonai.
For there the thrones of justice were set up,
the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for shalom in Yerushalayim;
may those who love you prosper.
May shalom be within your ramparts,
prosperity in your palaces.

For the sake of my family and friends, I say,
Shalom be within you!”
For the sake of the house of Adonai our God,
I will seek your well-being.

Philippians 1:9-11

And this is my prayer: that your love may more and more overflow in fullness of knowledge and depth of discernment, 10 so that you will be able to determine what is best and thus be pure and without blame for the Day of the Messiah, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Yeshua the Messiah — to the glory and praise of God.

How to Pray for Israel- Regardless of Israel’s Political Situation

Psalm 122:6

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.

Isaiah 62:6-7

I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,
And give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

This is from the Intercessors for Israel (IFI):

  1. Introduction: Considering that the current crisis and the headlines in and about Israel change very rapidly, how can we consistently intercede and know we are hitting God’s target?
  2. First, here are two basic foundations for effective intercession:
    1. We pray according to God’s Word because it is only as we pray according to His will that we are confident that He hears and answers – in His timing:

And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us. [The Greek “hears” indicates listening with an intent to act on what is said.] And if we know that He hears us… we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

      1 John 5:14-15

Why can we have this confidence in His Word? Because, God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken, and shall He not make it good? (Num. 23:19)

God also states, So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it (Isa. 55:11). See also Psalm 119:89, Isaiah 40:8, Matthew 24:35, etc.

    2. Our goal is the sanctification of God’s name. In Hebraic/biblical thought, name equals essential nature or reputation. This is the foundation for what the Lord is doing today in Israel, in the Church and in our personal lives.Tanach [Old Testament] saints had this as one of the basic goals of their prayers. After Israel sinned by demanding a human king, Samuel exhorted the people saying, Fear not. You have done all this wickedness, yet do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart…For the LORD will not forsake His people for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you His people. Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you (1 Sam. 12:20,22-23a).The Psalms use this foundational concept frequently.

Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name. Deliver us, and purge away our sins, for Your name’s sake. Why should the gentiles say, Where is their God?

      Psa. 79:9-10a; cp. 115:1-3

The most important and relevant chapter relating to Israel’s restoration today is Ezekiel 36. Concerning Israel’s return, God says, I am not doing this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the gentiles, where you went. And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the gentiles, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the gentiles shall know that I am the LORD…when I shall be sanctified in you [Israel] before their eyes (Ezek. 36:22-23).

Messiah Yeshua undrstood this biblical concept of seeking God’s glory first, so He commands us, After this manner therefore pray. Our Father in heaven, hallowed [sanctified] be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven (Matt. 6:9-10). Yeshua is saying that one of the ways in which God’s name will be sanctified/glorified is by His will being done on earth. And that is what we see in the situations concerning Israel today.

  3. As we see what God is accomplishing in and through Israel, then we can accurately pray about current issues. What is God’s ultimate goal?

For the earth [to] be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

    Hab. 2:14

When will that happen? When Messiah Yeshua returns. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels… (Matt. 16:27a; see also Psa. 24:7-10; Zech. 2:5,8; Matt. 24:30; 25:31; Luke 2:32; Rev. 5:13, etc.)

What is needed for Messiah Yeshua to return? First, the gospel must go from Jerusalem (Acts 1:8) unto the ends of the earth.

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

    Matt. 24:14

This has taken place and is continuing to occur today as multitudes are being saved in throughout the world – except in affluent “westernized” nations.

Then from the ends of the earth, the scattered Jewish people need to be regathered. For I will take you from among the gentiles, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. (Ezek. 36:24; see also Psa. 147:2; Isa. 43:5-7; Jer. 32:37-41; Amos 9:14-15; Zech. 8:7-8, etc.)

Their return to the land will result in all Israel being saved. Many prophetic verses say that the Jews return in unbelief – then God opens up their spiritual eyes to see Yeshua, their Messiah and Lord. In Zechariah 12, nations come against a people already in Jerusalem and Judea. Then God says, I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me [in Hebrew: “look to Me”] whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. (Zech. 12:10; see also Deut. 30:3-6; Jer. 33:7-8; Ezek. 36:24-28; Zeph. 3:14-20, etc.)

Israel’s salvation occurs before the physical return of the Lord because Yeshua is returning to Jerusalem (Zech. 14:3-4; Acts 1:10-12). And Yeshua said He will not return until He is invited back by Jerusalem as Messiah. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem [He is talking to the people, especially the leaders of Israel.], you that kill the prophets and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together…and you would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, You shall not see Me henceforth until you shall say, Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord. (Matt. 23:37-39) Blessed is he that comes in the name of YHWH [God’s personal name in the Tanach] is quoted from Psalm 118:26. Many in Judaism see this verse as what they will say to their Messiah. Until a significant remnant in Israel says this from the heart, Yeshua will not return.

For Israel to be saved, they need to be alive. God is not in the business of saving dead people (Heb. 9:27). For the Jews to remain alive – especially in Israel’s neighborhood – they need a strong army. This also is a fulfillment of the prophetic word. So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. (Ezek. 37:10; see also Isa. 41:10-16; Jer. 51:19-24; Mic. 4:11-13; Zech. 12:6, etc.)

For Israel to be saved, they need a land to return to. In Ezekiel 36 and Zechariah 12, God deals with Israel once they are back in the land.

For Israel to be saved and remain in His land, they need a godly government. This is also a prophetic promise from God. I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds…And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them…saith the LORD. (Jer. 23:3-4; also Isa. 1:26; Jer. 3:14-15; Zech. 12:6, etc.).

In other words, for God’s Kingdom to come, that is for Yeshua to return, all Israel needs to be saved. For that to happen, she needs to be in the land of Israel (although we bless God for every Jew who has met Messiah while in exile). The land needs to be here for the Jews to return to it. Israel also needs to be able to protect her people, which requires a strong army. All of this entails having a government that – as much as possible – lines up with God’s will.

Anything that hinders this is not God’s will. With this outline in mind, it becomes easier to pray into Israel’s current situation.

  4. We can now pray for Israel, regardless of her current situation. Here are just some areas for intercession that are always in line with God’s will.
    • Cry out for Israel to cry out: Call upon Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you shalt glorify Me. (Psa. 50:15; also 2 Chr. 7:14)
    • Plead for mercy in the midst of God’s righteous judgments: LORD, I have heard Your speech, and was afraid. LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known. In wrath remember mercy. (Hab. 3:2; also Psa. 85:4)
    • Pray for aliyah: For thus says the LORD, Sing with gladness for Jacob, shout among the chief of the nations: publish, praise, and say, LORD, save your people, the remnant of Israel. Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travails with child together. A great company shall return there. (Jer. 31:7-8; also Psa. 147:2; Isa. 43:5-7; Ezek. 36:23-24)
    • Pray against any “Land for Peace” process: For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land. (Joel 3:1-2; also Lev. 25:23; Ezek 35:12-13)
    • Intercede for the salvation of Moslems through the destruction of Islam: Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek Your name, LORD. Let them be confounded and troubled for ever. Yes, let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may know that You, whose name alone is YHWH, are the most high over all the earth. (Psa 83:16-18; also Zech 14:16)
    • Pray for Israel’s salvation:

And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is My covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

      Rom 11:26-27

Turn us again, O God, and cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved…
Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved…
Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved.

      Psa 80:3,7,19

See also Psalm 44:4 and Zechariah 12:10.

    • Intercede for the Church to awake to her responsibility and relationship to Israel:

Ruth said, Do not beg me to leave you, or to turn from following after you, for where you go, I will go. Where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God:

      Ruth 1:16

I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

      Rom. 11:11

Boast not against the branches. But if you boast, you bear not the root [God’s covenantal promises to Israel], but the root you.

      Rom. 11:18

With a biblical foundation for our intercession, we are better able to hear the leading of God’s Spirit as He places on our hearts His burdens for the nation of Israel – and the Church – in these days of great shakings. (IFI)

From the Father’s Heart: Jerusalem, Jerusalem!

If you have read this post immediately as published or if you are reading this now, you may wonder how quickly I changed the title. Well, as I published and sent the notice to some, the Lord quickly corrected me. This is not about the song nor just about Jerusalem; but this is about His heart for Jerusalem. This is about Him. I must obey.

7-28

Isarel365

Isaiah 62:1

62 For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
And her salvation as a lamp that burns.

The Lord speaks His heart in truly amazing ways. I am always in awe every time He reveals or shares something. I woke up around 2:30 a.m. today from hearing the song “Jerusalem Shel Zahav” or “Jerusalem of Gold” as performed by Ofra Haza. The last time I listened to the song was almost a year ago and never remembered it until I heard it in my spirit this morning.

The song kept ringing in my heart while I continued to lay quietly in bed. After some time of listening to it continually playing, I prayed for the peace of Jerusalem. Then the Lord spoke which I heard clearly in my spirit:

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how often I long to gather your children as a hen gathers her chicks!”

This, to me, speaks clearly how deeply the Lord loves Jerusalem. It speaks volumes of what is in His heart for His land and people. He has not and never will reject Israel as some Christians wrongly believe. His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is an everlasting covenant. The following passages are just a few among many that show the steadfastness of God’s commitment, His everlasting covenant to Israel.

Psalms 137:5

If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
Let my right hand forget its skill!

Jeremiah 31:35-37

35 Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The Lord of hosts is His name):

36 “If those ordinances depart
From before Me, says the Lord,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease
From being a nation before Me forever.”

37 Thus says the Lord:

“If heaven above can be measured,
And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
I will also cast off all the seed of Israel
For all that they have done, says the Lord.

Jerusalem is God’s holy city. The Messiah, when He returns, will reign from there. He will bring Jerusalem and all Israel back to Himself and establish His Name in their midst for all nations to see. When I was in Jerusalem during the 2011 Feast of Tabernacles, I had the chance to climb up the Mount of Olives where the Lord Jesus used to walk and minister with His disciples. On the spot where He taught His disciples to pray (the Lord’s Prayer as it is known), the Lord spoke to me as I was wondering why the Roman Catholic Church is in control of the Biblical sites. My heart was very heavy as I realized how difficult it was for the Jews to believe that He is their Messiah when in His Name they were killed in the most brutal ways. How badly He is misrepresented among His people!

I walked away from the crowd who were busy doing what normal tourists do, and went to the garden alone. I poured out the heaviness in my heart and the Lord came strongly in that moment. I heard Him in my spirit, “See, my land is divided. It has been fragmented to this day.”

While Jerusalem is not yet physically divided between the Jews and the Palestinians, and while we mostly think and pray only against physically dividing the land of Israel especially Jerusalem, God sees it as already divided. It has been spiritually divided. He is interested in not only keeping the land intact, but making Jerusalem, the manifestation of His Throne here on earth, spiritually united in Him.

That word sank deep into my heart that it remained in me for a long time. Even during my flight back to the Philippines, all I could think were those words. Hearing the song “Jerusalem of Gold” in this special way and letting me hear His lament as written above reminded me of this experience in Israel and the words He spoke to me that pierced my heart.

If you fear and honor God, if you truly love Him, may you take seriously His words about Israel, Jerusalem and the Jews if you have not done so yet.

Genesis 12:3

I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Zechariah 2:8

For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eyes.

May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless and keep you!

Cynthia

A Call to Intercede: Intifida is on the Rise!

Update: January 28, 2014

This morning, around 3:00, the Lord woke me up with this message: “You are not merely dealing with Muslims; you are dealing with a stronghold.”

When I heard it, I knew what He meant. The Lord was referring to Islam and I said, “Yes, Lord, I believe it is the stronghold of Islam that we are dealing with.”

It made me realize that the call to intercede is more than just praying against the ‘planned intifada,’ but praying against the stronghold behind it. It is not an armed wrestling with the radicals but rather fighting against it in the Spirit through prayer and intercession. As I pondered on the message, I remembered His Word through Paul in the following:

Ephesians 6:12

12 For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For although we do live in the world, we do not wage war in a worldly way; because the weapons we use to wage war are not worldly. On the contrary, they have God’s power for demolishing strongholds. We demolish arguments and every arrogance that raises itself up against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey the Messiah.

In obedience to the Father, I prayed in the way that He wanted. Every Muslim, moderate or radical, is in bondage to the spirit of Islam. God wants to free these people from such stronghold and the only way we can fight against such deep-seated power of darkness is in the Spirit through Yeshua/Jesus the Messiah. The Father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, our Father, is more than able to set them free as He will. But it is His desire that we, His children will join with Him by prayer and intercession. Prophetic intercession accomplishes the things that God desires. As the Father revealed His heart on this, He will certainly answer our prayers for the Muslims whom the devil has so deceived and used to fight against Him through Israel and the Jews; and yes, the Christians.

May the Lord bless and keep us all. May He find us faithful when He comes in His glory and majesty!

Update: January 27, 2014

These news stories on Arutz Sheva tell us that INTIFADA is truly on the rise as the Lord revealed on January 12.

Fatah Leader Calls for Armed Uprising

…Fatah Central Committee member Tawfik Tirawi reportedly told Al-Miadin that there will be no new Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza in the near future, and not even in 20 years. For that reason, he said, Fatah must resume the “violent uprising” against Israel – meaning terrorism.

Hamas Leader: Third Intifada ‘A Matter of Time’

…“The intifada will not wait for anyone,” warned Yousef. “If it doesn’t happen today then it will happen tomorrow, if not this month then next month. Eventually – just as the First Intifada and the Al-Aqsa Intifada broke out – another one could break out.”

Praise God for His undivided attention over His land, Eretz Yisrael, and for the watchmen whom He appointed to call on Him and not rest until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Psalm 121: 4

No, the guardian of Isra’el
never slumbers or sleeps.

Isaiah 62:6-7

I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,
And give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Let us continue to intercede and pray that any terror plots from all sides be foiled just as the one in this news:

BreakingIsraelNews: Al-Qaeda Plot to Blow Up US Embassy and Jerusalem Convention Center Foiled

Could this foiled terrorism be the one that the Holy Spirit prompted me to pray in the early evening of January 12? Well, only He knows; but as mentioned in this article, the Lord intervened and shifted my prayer to pray for a certain terrorist. Before praying for the Lord’s intervention in the life of this terrorist, I heard myself praying that any terror plot be exposed and thwarted wherever and whenever it was going to be. And whoever the terrorist God wanted to touch, I am continually praying for him/her. I may not know who this particular terrorist is, but I believe that he/she will eventually find the Messiah. This is happening daily among Muslims because God is at work. Below are stories of Muslims coming to the Lord Jesus Christ:

===========================================================================

As the death of former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon filled the news, the Lord gave me a message. On January 12, the day after the former PM’s passing, the Lord spoke this word to me very clearly as I was going to sleep after praying: “Intifada is on the rise.” On January 18, this news from DEBKAfile came out which obviously confirms the message:

Israelis engage in diplo-babble instead of preparing for Palestinian diplomatic intifada in April

Excerpt:

Abbas is fond of telling everyone that he is against terrorism. He is therefore setting up a “diplomatic intifada” – without the violence the Palestinians demonstrated in their former assaults on the Jewish state. However, debkafile’s counter-terror sources have found that, in recent weeks, Abbas and his security agencies have lost control of suburbs in the West Bank towns under their rule, and especially the 19 refugee camps which have been taken over by local armed militias.
These militias, as well as Hamas, Jihad Islami and other violent bands, are getting organized for a fresh outbreak of terrorist operations including suicide bombers.

In the Nablus and Bethlehem areas of the West Bank, some Palestinian gangs are also preparing to shoot Qassam rockets at Jerusalem and other Israel towns.

In the year 2000, the Israeli powers-that-be, led by the IDF Chief of staff at the time, Shaul Mofaz, kept Palestinian preparations for their intifada away from the public notice, so as not to upset peace diplomacy.

Israel is living amidst terrorism and intifada so it is no wonder to me that God would speak those things. Former PM Ariel Sharon was Israel’s war hero; and he was in spite of the media’s reckless and biased stories about him. Now that the former PM who is known for his valiance during the past wars that Israel fought since its statehood in 1948, and the present security threats as the hostile neighbors continue to advance their agenda to destroy Israel, it is not surprising that another intifada would ensue. His passing away was greatly celebrated by the enemies and it is just normal for them to think of another uprising against Israel now that he is gone. I believe, however, that this is not what the Father wants and so the warning that we may intercede for both Israel and her enemies.

arielsharon1928-2014Ariel Sharon: Debunking the Media Myths

For those who understand how deeply rooted the hatred of the Palestinians and their kin towards Israel, it  seems futile and impossible to reach out to them in love and peace. And yes, the peace negotiations that the US Secretary of State John Kerry is relentlessly pushing falls short of the kind that the Lord wants. Peace with Israel’s determined enemies is beyond human ability to attain and it is a Biblical fact that such peace cannot be achieved since this hatred towards the Jewish nation is born from the pit of hell. This is not simply a struggle between two conflicting people but one rooted in the devil’s hatred for God.  It is Satan’s hatred and rebellion towards God through these people against Israel with whom He made an everlasting covenant.

Genesis 17:4-8

“As for me, this is my covenant with you: you will be the father of many nations. Your name will no longer be Avram [exalted father], but your name will be Avraham [father of many], because I have made you the father of many nations. I will cause you to be very fruitful. I will make nations of you, kings will descend from you.

“I am establishing my covenant between me and you, along with your descendants after you, generation after generation, as an everlasting covenant, to be God for you and for your descendants after you. I will give you and your descendants after you the land in which you are now foreigners, all the land of Kena‘an, as a permanent possession; and I will be their God.”

1 Chronicles 16:13-18; 36

13 You descendants of Isra’el his servant,
you offspring of Ya‘akov, his chosen ones:
14 he is Adonai our God,
His judgments are everywhere on earth.
15 Remember his covenant forever,
the word he commanded to a thousand generations,
16 the covenant he made with Avraham;
the oath he swore to Yitz’chak
17 and established as a law for Ya‘akov,
for Isra’el as an everlasting covenant:
18 “To you I will give the land of Kena‘an
as your allotted heritage.”

36 Blessed be Adonai, the God of Isra’el,
from eternity past to eternity future!”

As is written, the battle of Armageddon will take place and its purpose is to wipe off Israel from the face of the earth. Although the result will be victory for Israel as the Messiah himself will come to rescue her, we cannot just sit down and relax and wait for it to happen. The Lord wants us to do something – to pray for the peace of Jerusalem; to pray for them that hate Israel. God who is merciful and just is also concerned for the salvation of these children of Abraham whom the enemy has so deceived. I felt the burden of the Lord for them when on the same evening of January 12 as I was praying, the Holy Spirit took over and led me to pray for a terrorist. I paused as I became aware of what I was praying for. Then I realized that the Lord was praying through me, for a certain terrorist. Whoever he is, I do not know; I just let the Lord move. What seems impossible to us is possible with God; what we cannot naturally do, God can, supernaturally. So, as we pray for Israel in this critical hour, let us also Pray for the Other Sons of Abraham. Let us pray against the real enemy behind all these conflicts among Abraham’s blood descendants.

Psalm 122:6

Pray for shalom in Yerushalayim;
may those who love you prosper.

Love in Yeshua,

Cynthia
